She thought her only option was to take the dog into the vet's office but I learned otherwise from this story and it made such a huge, positive difference. I just want you to know that some good has come from your traumatic experience and if I can be possibly overly sentimental, I think Milou might be a guardian angel helping other dogs and their people at that time in their life, he certainly was for my mother's Malcolm.Belgrade Daily Photohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15407608329058810443noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19332364.post-38090417316360353082008-06-10T01:44:00.000+02:002008-06-10T01:44:00.000+02:00Hi there, I somehow landed on your page and read y...Hi there, I somehow landed on your page and read your entry about Milou. I am so sorry about what happened. I found out my dog ruptured her knee ligament today, and being 12 yrs old, it suddenly dawned on me that she is getting to an age where her body will not keep up with her lively soul. Anyway, thank you for sharing this story for when the time comes, I'll watch out and be sure to look into her eyes. Thank you so much and may Milou continue to live on in our hearts.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19332364.post-22960409104206799192008-06-07T05:15:00.000+02:002008-06-07T05:15:00.000+02:00Oh Jilly. It is such a sad yet worthwhile lesson for you to have learned and to share with us. I could smack that vet. Of course you couldn't speak, he was your baby. Milou was indeed a beautiful dog. My friend Marie has two cocker spaniels and they are gorgeous too.
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to this web page. I will bookmark it now so I remember to visit more often.MmeBenauthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14365277537757094040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19332364.post-10917341269733806412008-04-03T13:37:00.000+02:002008-04-03T13:37:00.000+02:00how terrible? She should have been patient enough to have done it the right way.

I agree with the above poster though, that Milou has forgiven you. It is such a difficult act to undergo, one of the harder responsibilities for pet owners.Kittyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13260829805068114560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19332364.post-90740024129882245172008-03-23T18:52:00.000+01:002008-03-23T18:52:00.000+01:00Forgive yourself. Perhaps he was meant to teach the veterinarian (or even you) something that you may never know about or that you don't know about yet. Something that will benefit another deserving creature who maybe didn't have as great a life. You do know that you ALWAYS at all times did the best you could for him.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19332364.post-20779081165256095452008-03-19T19:55:00.000+01:002008-03-19T19:55:00.000+01:00What a traumatic experience it was for you and for...What a traumatic experience it was for you and for Milou! I realized that I was holding my breath as I read the story. I'm so sorry you had to experience the event like that.

Hopefully, the veterinarian learned something from it.Ming the Mercilesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09957918533010735599noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19332364.post-42631854612804376442008-03-11T08:59:00.000+01:002008-03-11T08:59:00.000+01:00I came over to thank you for the comments on my bl...I came over to thank you for the comments on my blog, but did not think i would be leaving in tears, when we had Kep as a pup i knew that someday that would be the one job that i would have to do on my own. that day has yet to come, thank god, but i now have a better idea how to get it right, thank you.Bretthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11807796517043303774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19332364.post-19703881293515785572008-03-06T15:20:00.000+01:002008-03-06T15:20:00.000+01:00Jilly, I am deeply saddend by your story, I am sor...Jilly, I am deeply saddend by your story, I am sorry. My friends took care of my dogs, very well, but giving them beef was not good. As a "semi" non meat person my animals had very little raw meat; so I found that pieces of steak was not good to the Dalmation. I had to put him down 60 days after I had my stroke. Bushios (sp?) have the same problem.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19332364.post-73508649456135440302008-02-14T17:26:00.000+01:002008-02-14T17:26:00.000+01:00Jilly, I still have tears in my eyes from your pos...Jilly, I still have tears in my eyes from your post about dear Milou.
Thank you for sharing your experience, you did nothing wrong at all, at times like that no one is perfect and things happen we cannot control. Milou was very lucky to have you love him and give him the wonderful life that he lived!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
